Terms & tuning disclaimer

Version 2026-09-28 · Effective 28 September 2026

Read before uploading or using a file

Changing ECU or TCU software can affect safety, reliability, emissions and road legality. You must have permission to submit the file and arrange suitable checks before installing or using any result.

1. What the service provides

Tuning Service provides file assessment, calibration work, original-file requests and online tools. Work is based on the files, vehicle details and instructions you provide. We will use reasonable care and skill, but a file alone cannot establish a vehicle’s mechanical condition or guarantee a particular power, economy or diagnostic result.

Tell us about modifications, faults, previous tuning, fuel requirements and any uncertainty about the read or ECU identification. Keep your original read and recovery information. We may ask for further information or decline work that we cannot carry out appropriately.

2. Your authority and your files

Only upload files that you own or are authorised to use and submit. Obtain the vehicle owner’s permission. You permit us to store, inspect and process your uploads to carry out the requested service and provide support. Do not include unnecessary personal information, passwords or material that infringes another person’s rights.

3. Lawful use and vehicle compliance

You are responsible for establishing whether the requested modification and its intended use are lawful where the vehicle will be operated. Check roadworthiness, emissions, noise, insurance, registration and any approval requirements before requesting work or installing a file. Inform the owner and insurer of changes where required.

Removing or disabling emissions or safety functions may make a vehicle unlawful for road use. The availability of an option on this site is not confirmation that it is legal for your vehicle or intended use. Do not request or use non-compliant work. Describing a vehicle as “off-road” or “motorsport only” does not automatically exempt it from applicable law.

4. Installation and technical risks

Software changes and programming can cause loss of communication, a non-starting vehicle or damage if the file, hardware, equipment or procedure is unsuitable. Higher loads can increase wear or expose existing problems in the engine, transmission and associated systems. Manufacturer warranties and insurance cover may be affected.

Use a suitably competent operator and compatible tools, a stable power supply and an appropriate recovery procedure. Verify the ECU and software identity, checksums and tool compatibility before writing. Inspect and test the vehicle in safe, lawful conditions before returning it to service. Stop using a result and contact us if it appears incorrect or unsafe.

5. Credits, starting work and returns

Uploading a file and saving a draft do not start paid work or deduct tuning credits. Review the service, selected add-ons and price before pressing Start. Start deducts the displayed required credits and records the accepted price for that request. Later price changes do not change the accepted price of work already started.

Options marked as bundled share the displayed bundle maximum; options marked as extra are charged outside that maximum. An original-file request has its own service price. Any unused credits shown by the completion calculation are returned to your credit balance. A funded request cancelled through the service returns its remaining charged credits. Contact us about disputed work, purchased-credit refunds or a result that cannot be used; a credit return is not itself a cash refund.

Nothing in these terms removes any statutory cancellation, repair, repeat-performance, price-reduction or refund rights that apply to you. Acceptance of these terms is not a blanket waiver of consumer cancellation rights.

6. Responsibility and support

You remain responsible for the accuracy of the information you supply, your authority to request the work and the installation and use of the result. We remain responsible for performing our service with reasonable care and skill. Tell us promptly about any issue and provide relevant read files, logs and vehicle information so we can investigate.

Nothing here excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or applicable statutory consumer rights.

7. Acceptance and records

We ask you to actively accept these terms when creating an account, uploading files and starting paid work. We record your account, the document version, the acceptance time and the relevant upload or request reference. Existing requests retain their recorded terms version. See our privacy notice for information about your data.
